Replenished dealer fleets and declining customer demand contributed to a year-over-year decline in Volvo CE’s second-quarter net sales.

Volvo CE reported net sales of roughly $2.3 billion in its second quarter, down from $2.7 billion in its 2023 second quarter, a decline of 15.8%. Service revenue was up 2%, while net sales of machines were down 19%.

Bobcat is on the way toward increased development of automation with a restructuring of its parent company that would merge the equipment manufacturer with Doosan Robotics.

Gov. Jim Pillen’s property tax proposals were officially introduced Thursday in the Nebraska Legislature, which included a major tax credit program instead of reducing school district tax rates to provide relief.

State Sen. Lou Ann Linehan of Elkhorn, the Legislature’s Revenue Committee chair, introduced Legislative Bill 1 on Thursday on Pillen’s behalf. While the governor and his staff have said the end goal is reducing all local school district general fund levies to 0 by 2027, the final bill took the form of a massive property tax credit program instead of a previously pitched three-part levy reduction.

Minnesota's right-to-repair law, called the "Digital Fair Repair Act," went into effect on July 1, 2024. With its enactment, Minnesota joins California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, and New York as the sixth state to enact a law protecting an equipment owner's right to repair their equipment as they see fit.

Minnesota's law does not apply to agricultural equipment - meaning Colorado remains the only state to have enacted a law permitting farmers to repair farm equipment themselves.
