CNH Halts Shipments of Equipment from its Plants, Fully Assess Tariffs

CNH Industrial has confirmed online reports it will temporarily pause farm equipment shipments from North American factories as well as from its European counterparts, effective immediately.

Here is CNH Industrial's statement in full:

"We are stopping shipments from North America plants and European imports effective today. This is a temporary move until we assess the full impact of planned tariffs on pricing. There are no impacts to production, and parts shipments continue as planned. We will continue to monitor the situation."

New financed construction equipment sales continue to climb year over year, with sales rising considerably in 2024.

Nearly 153,000 pieces of new financed construction equipment were sold during the year, an 11.6% jump over 2023, according to Fusable's EDA equipment finance data.

USDA: Farmers Expect to Plant More Corn and Less Soybean Acres in 2025

Producers surveyed across the United States intend to plant 95.3 million acres of corn in 2025, up 5% from last year, according to the Prospective Plantings report released today by USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).

Planted acreage intentions for corn are up or unchanged in 40 of the 48 estimating states. Acreage increases of 400,000 acres or more from last year are expected in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. If realized, the planted area of corn in Idaho, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, and South Dakota will be the largest on record.
