“We still have our first flat panel TV, just moved it to our bedroom for early-morning weather. We have two others (Television sets, Feb. 22, 2023). Size and price made all of this gluttony possible. We haven’t gone super-technical, partly because we don’t understand, and mostly because we don’t watch that much. Also we have endured what was described by a TV dealer as Sony coming in during the night and making software updates on a TV we thought was turned off. Or, even more spooky, our television has talked to us when it was supposedly turned off. Over several months, a few times in the middle of the night. Saying words to the effect there was an error and to take some kind of correction action. We were never sure if it was the TV or the satellite receiver until we moved. In our new apartment with no satellite, we have had the TV talk a couple of times.” - Chuck

“One thing I do actually get right is the answer to your question. It’s ‘spring forward, fall back’ (It’s about time, March 1, 2023). I only know this because before they changed it to mid-November, in my college years, I always got an extra hour at the bar on my birthday weekend (end of October) because they turned the clock back at midnight. That doesn’t need to end up in the mailbag; that’s just for your knowledge. Ha!” - Chris

“Good morning, Shane. Congrats on being recognized by the Johnston program (Invested in wrestling, March 7, 2023). Well deserved. Also, an awesome column. We're blessed to have had both boys wrestle over many years from youth through college. The lessons learned and the friendships will last them forever. We also have many friends because of wrestling. We've shared highs and lows and celebrations on and off the mat with them.” - Jeff
Compared to other sports participants and fans, the wrestling circle may be small, but it is definitely strong. - Shane
